You never know when you'll get some amazing colour! I hadn't really thought about all the different variables - I used the same pan, always use alum for the mordant, just tap-water as usual, and I picked them at the same place, but all the other variables are there of course. I've had different colours from two skeins in the same dye-pot in the past which I put down to them being different wools.Peeriemoothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00942676847285474124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1789213255940068332.post-1341239121009709052012-07-03T11:21:17.995+01:002012-07-03T11:21:17.995+01:00Time of year, where picked (soil acidity etc.), wa...Time of year, where picked (soil acidity etc.), water used, type of pan used, and just about everything else you can think of, do all make a difference to the colour you'll get with a plant dye. And mordant amounts/types, fibre types and even the way the yarn is spun can all make a difference to how colour is absorbed. It's what I love about natural dyeing, the unpredictability of it.

Nice fridge :DAnnie Cholewahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17608057589525908147noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1789213255940068332.post-37321460934585536962012-07-02T18:58:49.395+01:002012-07-02T18:58:49.395+01:00Love the cat photos. (Bertie, one of the main characters, is always hankering after it although his mother won't let him drink it.)

I think you need to crochet your husband one of these to go with his hammer:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/63721773/crochet-pattern-lael-viking-hat-sizesMrs. Micawberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08680436275934263596noreply@blogger.com
