Making Monday - casting on

It's Making Monday and I should of course be casting off - I have *cough* several things already on the go after all - but I just need to do this one little thing..

Honestly it won't take long - a few hours maybe...

I love starting new things even though I find casting-on, joining in the round and the first few rows tedious beyond imagining - after that, well, it's all the possibilities isn't it? Especially with Fair Isle which this will be. Haven't even decided the designs yet, the potential is still all there.

Apart from that, look! Look! First (indoor) daffodil!

We did not have snow today (we had a little yesterday, but it melted). Instead we had a very cold but bright day, which means sunshine at my kitchen window, shining through my flowers. I love daffs!

Gorgeous daffodil - indoor sunshine.

Ooh, Fair Isle. Do you make up your pattern as you go along? (And were you born knitting?)

Couldn't agree more about the casting on for in-the-round! I loath dpns!

Love the pretty daffs though, a much needed shot of nearly sunshine :)

(2nd try, hopefully avoiding typos)

Hehe, no Mrs M, I learned at school :-). I went through a book of Fair Isle charts until I found one (or rather two, combined) that I liked and fitted the stitch count.

Annie, I love dpns (hate circs, just don't get on with them at all), it's just the casting-on and the first few rounds that's such a nightmare.. Actually I hate casting-on with straights as well. I love the *idea* of casting on, just not the physical reality :-D.

Mrs Pao, thank you! I've just done a new post with the end result :-).
