Some colour
One of my new Year's resolutions this year was to learn to crochet - enough to make granny squares. Well I'm getting there with that, but it's slow going. One day I'd like to make a blanket but today is not that day! However I saw this in a charity shop (labelled 'knitted baby blanket') and realised Miss Mouse would love it, so for £3.50 it was mine. So she gets (more) pink in her bedroom and I get something to aspire to!
Another half-resolution was to do more with the garden this year. I've certainly achieved more in the way of flowers, but also ta-da..!
Carrots.. little 'uns grown in a pot. What I'd forgotten until I pulled them up was that I'd planted the rather groovy not-just-boring-orange carrot seeds but er, white too. Next year I plan to grow the purple ones as well. What I'd also forgotten is how fantastic carrots taste straight from the garden!

Hey, if you want to get together for some crocheting, give me a shout!
I really want to learn to chrochet too- I've tired teaching myself so many times, but I just get in a right muddle. Well done with the carrots! xx
Karie, it'd be great if I could pick your brains sometime - I just can't seem to follow written patterns!
Charley, I've tried a squillion times and it's only this time that it's started to click! I've got an excellent book that really helped this time, though can't think of its title offhand...
I taught myself to crochet and it took quite a few months and several books. It wasn't until I made the smallest thickest beret that only a doll could wear that I worked out what I should be doing. I reckon we all get there in the end and once you do it's a great thing to get inspired with. Good luck with it.
X
Thank you Bobo Bun! Don't know how I missed your comment before, sorry! I've produced some weird contorted bits of crochet but I'm definitely getting there with the granny squares now!
